Job Description

SMC Global is a specialty chemical supplier in North America. We offer a career position with stability and predictability. This position is safety bonus eligible after 90 days of service.

Summary:

This position starts runs on Monday from Kershaw or Pageland, SC and they typically run up to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and the surrounding regions. This position allows you to sleep at home on weekends, runs are typically 3-5 nights, depending on the business need for the week. There are occasional 5-day maximum trips that are required at times based on business needs. If a 6th night is required, overtime will be paid. We provide generous per diem of $80 for each night.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered at ELD
• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road
• Follow all applicable traffic laws
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order
• Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

• Class A driver’s license in good standing
• Hazmat required
• Tanker Endorsements required
• No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years
• No DWI/DUI in last 10 years
• TWIC Card preferred but will be given time to get.
