Job Title: Pharmacy Manager

Location: 8000 Biscayne Blvd, Suite 105, Miami, FL 33138

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Manager oversees the daily operations of Larkin Pharmacy at Biscayne Medical, a retail pharmacy within Biscayne Medical Center. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and community members. The Pharmacy Manager provides leadership to pharmacy staff, ensures compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations, manages inventory and workflow, and collaborates with medical center providers and staff to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy located within Biscayne Medical Center.
  • Ensure safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of prescription medications in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including Board of Pharmacy, DEA, HIPAA, and third-party payer requirements.
  • Provide patient counseling regarding medication use, side effects, drug interactions, adherence, storage, and other medication-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents/fellows, medical assistants, discharge planners, and other medical center staff to support patient access to medications and continuity of care.
  • Promote pharmacy services to medical center patients, employees, and visitors, including prescription fulfillment, over-the-counter recommendations, immunizations, and other clinical services as applicable.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including medication ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and expiration monitoring.
  • Oversee controlled substance security, recordkeeping, and compliance procedures.
  • Monitor workflow, prescription volume, staffing, and service metrics to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve patient, provider, insurance, and prescription-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, inspections, quality assurance, and internal reporting.
  • Implement and monitor pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support business growth and operational performance while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered service.
  • Foster a professional, service-oriented, and team-focused work environment.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current and active pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience, with retail pharmacy experience required and prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Immunization certification and authority to administer vaccines in accordance with Florida law.
  • Strong knowledge of retail pharmacy operations, prescription processing, insurance billing, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, dispensing software, and electronic prescribing platforms.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment within a medical center setting.

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Mon-Thu, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Fri: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay Scale: Competitive salary ($145,600 - $153,920), based on experience and qualifications.
