Job Summary

This Senior Manager is an important part of the Learning and Development team and will be responsible for leadership development & coaching strategies and solutions across The Aspen Group. This role will partner closely with the Director, TAG Leadership Development & Coaching and key business partners at The Aspen Group to create and implement leadership development & coaching learning strategies, solutions and programs for leaders across the organization.

The Senior Manager, Leadership Development & Coaching is a proven leader who can effectively collaborate with Learning & Development, Talent Management, Human Resources, Finance, Operations and senior leaders across the organization and industry. This leader is a strong performance consultant who can develop and execute leadership strategies and solutions to build capability and confidence across all audiences in the organization. This leader has experience orchestrating organizationally complex work and demonstrating business impact through data.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders, the broader L&D team and a variety of cross-functional partners to understand specific leadership development & coaching needs at all levels.
  • Provide recommendations for learning experiences that increase reach, impact, and future leadership development & coaching capability requirements.
  • Collaborate with Director on leadership development & coaching strategy for The Aspen Group; combining insight on industry trends and aligning those with the L&D strategy, capabilities and needs.
  • Design and deliver a suite of highly effective leadership development & coaching learning solutions, programs, tools and resources. Solutions may include formal learning programs, experiential learning assignments, coaching, etc.
  • Manage leadership development & coaching programs from end-to-end, including communication, facilitation, event management and program analysis.
  • Drive a learning culture across the organization.
  • Design and deliver leadership development and coaching programs to build capability across leaders of the organization.
  • Ensure all leadership development & coaching programs are aligned, implemented and leveraged across the organization.
  • Identify innovative and cost-effective solutions for leadership development & coaching.
  • Identify, partner with and manage appropriate external vendors.
  • Use data to measure success: learn, iterate, and improve; analyze trends and develop proactive actions to continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Serve as a leadership development & coaching thought partner. Proactively researches and identifies opportunities to apply new thinking in leadership development & coaching in order to improve effectiveness. Stays in touch with learning field trends and best practices.
  • Partner with others to solve business problems and execute on leadership development & coaching initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Education level: Bachelor’s degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of leadership development & coaching experience, ideally in a fast-paced organization with a distributed workforce.
  • Background in leadership methodologies and assessments, including 360° feedback. Coaching and assessment certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of adult learning theory and principles.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Well-versed in digital learning, just-in-time and blended learning strategies.
  • Advanced skill in instructional design and implementing leadership development & coaching programs for all audiences.
  • Strong capabilities in the area of data analytics and reporting, as it pertains to measuring leadership & coaching effectiveness.
  • Experience providing consultation to senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Strong business insight, with the ability to credibly make a business case, by linking current and anticipated business challenges with learning and development solutions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels in the organization.
  • Flexibility and agility to be proactive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent facilitation skills. Experience in small and large group facilitation in multiple modalities.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring programs/processes that deliver high learning impact and drive business results.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Role is based in Chicago
