This position reports directly to our Senior Safety Manager. The Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating ElectriCom’s operational safety and health programs within the Energy Services division (electrical distribution). This role partners closely with the Senior Safety Manager and field leadership to develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities include conducting job site safety audits, performing job hazard analyses, delivering safety training, participating in incident investigations, and effectively communicating safety information across the organization. We are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated, and well-organized individual with experience supporting safety initiatives on construction projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintain thorough and current knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety and health regulations, with specific emphasis on OSHA CFR 1910.269.
  2. Identify hazards specific to electrical distribution work.
  3. Support energized and de-energized work practices, minimum approach distances, PPE requirements, and grounding procedures.
  4. Deliver safety training to employees throughout the year and during new-hire orientation.
  5. Lead toolbox talks and safety stand-downs focused on distribution hazards and safe work practices.
  6. Communicate safety findings, expectations, and corrective actions effectively across the organization.
  7. Conduct accurate and timely job site safety observations to support continuous improvement.
  8. Coordinate with construction field managers to address safety findings, concerns, or incidents.
  9. Assist the Senior Safety Manager with incident and injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and communication of findings.
  10. Work closely with the Senior Safety Manager, operational leadership, and field employees to support a strong, positive safety culture.
  11. Plan, prioritize, and execute work and travel schedules effectively.
  12. Work independently while managing assigned safety activities.

Position Requirements

  1. OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
  2. Working knowledge of OSHA 1910.269 preferred
  3. First Aid/CPR certification highly desired
  4. Field experience in electric distribution construction or maintenance (3 years preferred)
  5. Experience working directly with line crews
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  8. Comfortable speaking in group settings
  9. Ability to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive, safe, high-quality culture
  10. Willingness to travel up to 60% of working days, with occasional overnight stays
  11. Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  12. Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
