Butler National Corporation specializes in manufacturing gun control equipment, gun simulators and related custom test equipment, rapid integration of weapon-control systems, aircraft fuel tank safety solutions, and weapon / instrument cabling solutions.
The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Operator works in the production line operations to meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements. They set up and operate SMT equipment, monitor production flow, and perform PCB inspections to ensure compliance. They also troubleshoot process and equipment issues and enforce quality standards.
Essential Functions
•Responsible for meeting daily/weekly production plans.
•Manage system workflows to ensure timely output.
•Operate, set up, program, and perform maintenance/troubleshooting on SMT machines.
•Load components onto feeders and verify part numbers, quantities, and orientation.
•Operate and maintain tunnel oven and batch oven.
•Adhere to IPC standards, perform visual/AOI inspections, and address defects immediately.
•Read and interpret assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
•Ensure proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures are followed.
•Lead initiatives to increase productivity and improve process efficiency.
•Quality & Continuous Improvement.
•Always represent Butler National in a professional manner.
•Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Skills & Experience
•Must be able to read and understand schematics.
•Proficient in hand soldering and use of bench hand tools.
•Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the electronics manufacturing field preferred.
•Experience with SMT Machines.
•Strong understanding of all safety regulations and procedures.
• Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
• ISO 9001/AS9100 experience preferred.
Certifications
The certifications below are required but will be provided and paid for by Butler National Corporation.
