The Director of Radiology oversees a small radiology department delivering inpatient, emergency, and outpatient imaging services with an emphasis on timely, accurate studies. Modalities include CT, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Diagnostic Radiography, and PET CT, supported by modern digital workflows, dose-optimization standards, and rigorous quality control. As the Radiology Operations Director, the role steers technology upgrades, equipment uptime, and continuous process improvement to elevate patient care and support surgical, medical, and primary care teams.
The Director of Radiology reports to senior ancillary leadership in close partnership with a Medical Director of Radiology and collaborates daily with friendly nurses, radiologists, and a diverse team of technologists, sonographers, and imaging specialists. Core responsibilities include regulatory readiness, safety and quality metrics, workforce development, and capital and operating budget stewardship. Additional priorities involve optimizing throughput, enhancing prior-authorization and charge-capture workflows. The Diagnostic Imaging Director will leader advances service line growth, clinician engagement, and customer service excellence through Lean process improvement and actionable analytics.
