Site Safety and Health Officer (Construction)

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for a Construction client to start immediately at $80,000-100,000 DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits upon hire!
Location: Murfreesboro, TN On-Site
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, implement, and maintain the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity
Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for all definable features of work.
• Conduct and document daily safety inspections; submit reports to the Contracting
Officer’s Representative (COR) and maintain site records.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure subcontractor participation.
• Enforce 100% compliance with fall protection, PPE, infection control, confined space
entry, lockout/tagout, and other project-specific safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the VA Safety Officer and the Resident Engineer on all safety matters.
• Maintain and submit required records including OSHA 300/300A logs, incident reports,
exposure monitoring data, and safety training logs.
• Investigate all accidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions and prepare written reports
with corrective actions.
• Review and approve subcontractor safety plans, ensuring alignment with the project
APP.
• Ensure required signage, barricades, and access restrictions are in place to protect VA
staff, patients, and visitors during construction.
• Maintain emergency response procedures, conduct drills, and coordinate with VA
fire/safety officials
Minimum Qualifications
Training/Certifications:
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training (required)
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (required)
• Competent Person training in Fall Protection, Excavation, and Scaffolding (required)
• Additional VA-specific safety training (such as Infection Control Risk Assessment
[ICRA]) prior to mobilization
Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA 1926, NFPA, and VA safety
requirements.
• Ability to enforce safety standards with authority while maintaining collaborative
relationships with the project team and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in preparing reports, maintaining logs, and using digital safety management
tools.
• Excellent communication skills, including conducting training and leading safety
meetings.
